The Ad Council challenged our team to educate viewers about the seriousness of prediabetes. So we did. By using humor.
The ‘Take the Prediabetes Risk Test’ was a real time test viewers could take while watching the video. A doctor tells viewers that it takes less than one minute to find out if they may have the disease. He then uses the time in the one-minute ad to actually walk viewers through a simple test, having them hold up a finger for every prediabetes risk factor they have.
Along with some seriously funny spots, our real time tests about Type 2 Diabetes Prevention did the trick. It garnered a ton of press including Bloomberg News Online, CBS News, CNBC, CNN Money, Good Morning America, Univision, U.S. News and World Report, Telemundo, Yahoo! and local FOX, NBC, ABC, NBC, and Univision affiliates across the country. Coverage drove very strong engagement with the campaign website DoIHavePrediabetes.org.
Visits to the site doubled. And people were on their way to learning about prediabetes and doing something about it. The campaign worked so well it even snagged a Bronze PR Lion.
